LYSANDER -- Seven people are recovering from a rollover crash that shut down part of Route 690 north last night.

The crash happened around 6:11 p.m. on 690 north just north of Route 370 in the Town of Lysander.

Onondaga County Sheriff's deputies say 19-year-old Anthony Baker, of Phoenix, lost control of his SUV while making a lane change. Baker's DUV drifted into the median, flipping over several times.

Deputies assigned to the Onondaga County Sheriff's Prisoner Transport Unit witnessed the crash and stopped to help. Seven people were taken to Upstate University Hospital.

Deputies say 18-year-old Kirsten LaPlante, of Phoenix, was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the SUV and thrown into the northbound lane. She suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The other passengers who suffered minor injuries include 17-year-old Abby Giggs, of Liverpool, 20-year-old Ashley Lyons, of Pennellville, 23-year-old Gregory Millis, of Phoenix, 19-year-old Travis Dickinson, of Phoenix and 18-year-old Paul Nowakoski, of Pennellville.

The northbound lanes of Route 690, just north of Route 370, were closed while crews cleared the scene. The highway was reopened just after 7 p.m.

So far, no tickets have been issued.
