UTICA -- A Utica man is accused of leading police on a chase, crashing and leaving two of his passengers hurt.

It happened just after 8 p.m. Thursday.

State Police say 22-year-old Henry Lumpkin was driving a 2009 Toyota Corolla northbound on State Route 12 in Utica when he was stopped for speeding. That's when police say he took off, leading troopers on a chase. Police say Lumpkin lost control after passing two cars, flipping over and then taking off on foot.

Two passengers were hurt and taken to St. Elizabeth Memorial Hospital. 22-year-old Tyre Pulliam was partially ejected and was treated for a bruised lung. 20-year-old Christa Stewart was treated for back pain and minor lacerations to her hands and legs.

Charges against Lumpkin are pending.
