SYRACUSE -- A registered level 3 sex offender will spend more than a decade in prison after pleading guilty to charges that he kidnapped a little girl and tried to rape her.
Thomas Baker, 54, pleaded guilty in Onondaga County Court Friday to a second degree kidnapping charge. Baker will face 15 years in prison at his sentencing next month.
He admitted to luring a 9-year-old girl from the bedroom of her home on Syracuse’s Southside last summer.
Baker first denied knowing where the girl was, but police found her inside his home on Edgewood Avenue in Syracuse, near Corcoran High School.
Baker was also convicted of sexual abuse in 1991 for attempting to have sex with a 20 year old woman.
