It's being called 'upcycling'---making household items out of things we normally throw away.

Syracuse's Everson Museum is offering a class on eco-friendly uses for newspaper, bottle tops and more.  Everson education director Pam McLaughlin says that besides being good for the environment, the ideas put a personal touch on everyday items---for example envelopes made from magazine pages.

The eco-friendly useables class is Saturday, May 5th, 10:30 to 1:30.  It's $20, with a discount for members.  Signup at www.everson.org
