BOUCKVILLE -- There is good news for a dog many of you have been asking about.
Charlotte the stray dog will be able to get the medical help she needs.
Heritage Farm is a non profit group that works with people with disabilities in Madison County. Officials from Heritage Farm found Charlotte struggling in a culvert in the woods. Her leg was broken, and the vet first said it would need to be amputated.
Now, Heritage Farm says it has raised more than $3,000 needed to cover a reconstructive surgery. Dr. Paul Bookbinder from the Upstate Veterinary Surgical Center in Canastota says the surgery should be enough to save her leg and her life. Surgery is scheduled of May 10th. Charlotte will need six weeks of rest and recovery.
Many of you contacted us after we first brought you Charlotte's story, asking how you could help. Heritage Farm is now asking that all future donations be directed to the Shamrock Animal Fund to help other animals in need.
