SKANEATELES -- The home property tax records show is owned by Carl Byrne of Byrne Dairy drew several fire departments to battle a blaze Thursday evening.

The crews were dispatched to 3375 East Lake Road after a call for help came in around 9:00 p.m.. Crews tell CNY Central the flames were shooting through the roof of the lakefront home when they arrived.

The fire was knocked down in about twenty minutes. Fire crews say the family had evacuated the home before crews arrived on the scene.  There are no reports of injuries.

Fire investigators are now looking into what caused the fire, but say it looks like it started in the attic.

The Red Cross was on the scene as fire crews were cleaning up. The Auburn Citizen newspaper reports at least eight fire departments from Onondaga and Cayuga counties were called to the fire.
