Seneca County Sheriff Deputies say a canoe holding three men capsized on Cayuga Lake this morning around 2:05 am.

Darin Schwartzman, 29, of Arizona, David Blount, 34, of Oklahoma and Todd Belanger, 33, of Washington, DC were fishing when their boat capsized, throwing all three men into the water. Sheriff Deputies say when they arrived Schwartzman had swam to shore and alerted residence, and Belanger and Blount were still in the water holding on to the boat.

Sheriffs say the boat was taken south by the water current along Poplar Beach Rd until a bystander in a small row boat was able to retrieve Blount and Belanger. Belanger was taken to Geneva General Hospital for treatment for hypothermic symptoms, and Blount and Schwartzman were treated and released at the scene.
