VERONA -- State Police investigators are asking for the public's help in finding a woman who may be a link to a fire in Verona last Friday.

The fire, at 5266 Sand Hill Road, was reported at 6:15 a.m. on Friday, May 4th, and the home, which had been unoccupied for years, was well involved in flames when firefighters got there.  A cause and origin team is still looking into the cause.

The call came to Oneida County 911 from a passing motorist, who says he was flagged down by a woman who asked him to call because she had no cell phone.  But, she left the scene before  fire personnel got there, and now investigators want to talk to her.

Anyone who can help with the fire investigation is asked to call State Police at 366-6000.
