SYRACUSE -- Syracuse Police say a potential shooter was run over by a car on the city's southside.

Officers say a man was standing in the road at the corner of West Matson Avenue and Onondaga Creek Boulevard firing shots at an SUV. He was then hit by that same SUV. Police say the man is 22-years-old and suffered a serious leg injury. He was taken to Upstate University Hospital.

Investigators recovered a gun from the scene. The people in the SUV are being interviewed by officers, but are not facing any charges at the moment. Officers say it appears likely that the shooter will face charges.
