ONEIDA -- An Oneida man is under arrest after a violent attempted robbery.
Police say Shawn Kinsella, 27, tried to rob the Glenwood Plaza Liquor Mart on Saturday night. Officers say Kinsella held a knife to the clerk's throat and demanded money. The clerk managed to back away. Police say that's when Kinsella threw the knife and a liquor bottle at her. She ended up with a large scrape on the side of her neck.
Kinsella did not get any money at the store. He allegedly called 911 to turn himself in shortly after. Police were able to track his cell phone and take him into custody.
Kinsella was arraigned on charges of attempted robbery, assault, criminal obstruction of breasting or blood circulation, and harassment. He was sent to the Madison County Jail.
