SYRACUSE -- A man is dead following what police say was a medical emergency that caused him to lose control of his car.
It happened shortly after 6:30 p.m. Monday along East Seneca Turnpike near Munson Drive in Syracuse. That's just east of Meachem Field on the city's south side.
The 72-year-old man went across several front yards and hit a woman as she unloaded packages from her car, according to police.
The 41-year-old woman was taken to the hospital in serious condition with spine injuries.
The man was pronounced dead at a Syracuse hospital. The 41-year-old woman was listed in serious condition at another hospital.
Police have not released the name of the driver or the woman.
