BOONVILLE -- Alcohol and speed are factors in a motorcycle crash that killed a Lowville man Monday night.

Police say it happened Monday night around 8:55pm.

Officials say 54-year-old Earl Greenfield was traveling on Route 12 in the Town of Boonville when he lost control of his 2006 Honda motorcycle.

Greenfield went off the road, traveled through a ditch and up an embankment where he was ejected from the motorcycle, police say. Greenfield was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.
