SYRACUSE -- A driver is ticketed after Syracuse police say he made an improper turn and hit a motorcyclist.

It happened around 6:30 pm Friday.

Police say the motorcycle was heading northbound on South Warren Street in the left lane when a car, heading northbound in the right lane, tried to make a left turn onto East Washington Street and hit the motorcyclist.

According the police, the 28-year-old woman on the motorcycle complained of pain and was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The driver of the car, 26-year-old Matthew Unright of Liverpool, was ticketed for improper turn and will appear in traffic court in a later date.
