Three boaters on a pleasure craft that capsized near Sodus Point were rescued by the Coast Guard Station Sodus Point at 4:53pm on Saturday.

The Coast Guard says all three people were wearing life jackets when their boat tipped over, and one boater was showing signs of hypothermia. The boaters were transported back to Station Sodus Point, where they were evaluated by EMS, and the person showing signs of hypothermia was taken to a Newark, NY hospital.

In a separate occurance on Saturday, the Coast Guard says another boater was rescued when their recreational boat capsized near the south breakwall in Oneida Lake. Rescue boatcrews from fire departments in Constantia, Cleveland, and West Monroe responded. The Constantia boatcrew was first on the scene and rescued the person, who was uninjured.
