MORAVIA -- Bryona Wiler's story started back in March when her flight to Pittsburgh for a potentially life saving doctor's appointment fell through. But, Patient Airlife Services, a Long Island Company, came through and provided a flight for Bryona so she could talk to doctors about getting on the list for a lung transplant.
On Friday, 12-year-old Bryona met with transplant doctors all day in Pittsburgh, PA, speaking about a bacteria that Bryona was diagnosed with in April. Now, they are waiting for a culture to come back on Wednesday, and if it comes back clean, the doctors say they'll be able to list her.
All of the above was leading up to this evening, when ghost hunters from the Discovery, Biography, and Travel channels held a paranormal exposition benefit in Moravia, NY, with all proceeds going to Bryona and her family. A big fan of television's "Ghost Adventures," Bryona's was smiling from ear to ear as the different ghost hunters spoke of their respect and admiration for Bryona and her perserverance. It was an evening she thought was "really cool," and that her mother was waiting on for a long time.
"I was very, very excited," Alicia Wiler says. "I told my mom last night I felt like a kid at christmas, I couldn't wait to come."
The exposition featured stars of paranormal shows, seminars and a tour of the most haunted locations in Moravia. The event during the day was open and free to the public with donation buckets available, while people who wanted to investigate with the stars at night paid a 20 dollar donation.
