Putnam Street was scene of two early Sunday morning shootings

SYRACUSE -- Syracuse Police say Jamie Maldonado, 20, of Syracuse, was shot Sunday morning at 3:22 am while in his home on 102 Putnam Street.

An unknown shooter fired multiple shots through the windows and side of the house from the driveway, hitting Maldonado in the neck. Police say Maldonado is paralyzed from the neck down, and is listed in very critical condition at Upstate University Hospital.

A few hours later, at around 6:15 am, police say they received reports of shots fired on the 200 block of Putnam Street. Shell casings and other signs of evidence were found at the scene.

Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to contact Syracuse Police at 442-5222. All calls will be kept confidential.
