MARCY, ONEIDA COUNTY -- There's been another incident involving an attack by someone allegedly high on a powerful drug known as bath salts.
It happened Monday around 7:30 a.m. on Stage Road in the Town of Marcy, Oneida County.
An investigation shows David Schrader, 45, tried to attack a female neighbor as she was getting into her car to go to work.
The woman got out of the car and Schrader chased her into her garage before the woman was able to get into her house and lock the door, according to investigators. Schrader then allegedly tried to break the door by using a broom.
Schrader then ran out of the garage and into the street where he was spotted by a patrolling Oneida County Sheriff's Deputy. He was covered in his own blood, apparently after cutting himself, according to investigators.
Schrader was using bath salts just before the attack, according to deputies. Investigators say the attack on the neighbor was random and the only connection is that the people live next door to each other.
Schrader was arraigned in the emergency room at St. Elizabeth's Hospital on charges of burglary and attempted grand larceny for trying to steal the woman's car.
Schrader will be sent to the Oneida County Correctional Facility once he's discharged from the hospital in lieu of $25,000 bail.
It was just last week that a Munnsville, Madison County woman attacked her child after she was high on bath salts. Police say Trooper Christopher Budlong attempted to arrest the woman who was “violently combative” and may have been "growling," police say.
A man also admitted to taking bath salts outside a conveinence store in Tully and had to be taken to a hospital, according to State Police.
