PULASKI (AP) -- A motorist has been taken to a hospital after his car plunged two stories when he drove it through the metal siding of a building at a central New York recycling center.
Local media outlets report that the accident occurred shortly before 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Oswego County transfer station in Pulaski, 35 miles north of Syracuse. The car landed on its roof, but the driver reportedly only suffered minor injuries. He was taken to a Syracuse hospital.
The vehicle fell about 25 feet and came to rest on its roof on the pavement below a gaping hole in the back wall of a large metal-sided building.
Police say that an investigation revealed that 65-year-old Joseph Holynski was backing up his car into the the interior dumping area when he lost control of the vehicle and shot backwards through the wall.
