SYRACUSE -- Syracuse Police were called to two robberies in the city just one mile apart from one another in the wee morning hours Tuesday. First, a pizza man was robbed at gunpoint on Weiser Court. Less than two hours later, someone broke into a gas station on North State Street.
Minutes later, that person was apprehended. Investigators don't believe either incident is related.
First, city police responded to Franco's Pizzeria on East Genesee Street. That's where a pizza delivery man told them he was robbed at gunpoint around 2:40 a.m. blocks away on Weiser Court. The 62 year old delivery man said he just finished a delivery in the area when a male suspect showed a gun and demanded money.
There was a struggle, and the victim says he was assaulted before the suspect took off with cash.
The victim was taken to a local hospital to be treated for bruises and back pain.
Anyone with information should call Syracuse Police at 315-442-5222.
Then, just an hour and a half later, police arrested Kevin Davis, 38, after chasing him down Catherine Street. They say minutes earlier, around 4:15 a.m.,. Davis robbed the Sunoco Gas Station on North State Street. Investigators also got the money he stole. Davis was expected to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon.
No one was hurt in that incident.
