GEDDES -- The New York State Fair has announced two more acts for this year’s Grandstand, including a British pop group and a well known comedian.
The Wanted and Larry the Cable Guy will play the 2012 Grandstand concert series, bringing the number of announced nights so far this year to five. The Wanted will kick off the Fair on Thursday, August 23 at 7:30 p.m., while Larry the Cable Guy will entertain the crowd on Sunday, August 26.
"The 2012 Grandstand concert series has a little bit of everything," said Dan O'Hara, State Fair director. "With country, pop, rock, and comedy, we hope that this year has something for everyone."
The Wanted debuted in 2010 and came across the pond to the U.S. earlier this year. They are best known for their hits “All Time Low” and “Glad You Came”.
Comedian/actor Larry the Cable Guy is best known for his catchphrase “Git-r-Done” and his collaborative “Blue Collar Comedy Tour”. He was also the voice of Mater in the “Cars” movie series.
Tickets for both shows will go on sale Saturday, July 14 at 9:00 a.m. at the State Fair Box Office, on Etix.com, or by calling 1-800-514-3849. Concert tickets include admission to the Fair.
