MEXICO -- The sculpture of Mohawk Chief Joseph Brant that was stolen from Mexico Point Park early Saturday morning has been found.

The sculpture was found Monday morning on the side of a road by the park.

Park caretaker Sandra Scott says that Mohawk Chief Joseph Brant camped on an island in Mexico Point Park during the revolutionary war.

Joseph Brant's sculptor, Kenvyn Richards, and painter, Becky Woods, were disappointed that their hard work was stolen from the park.

In excitement about the sculpture’s return, Scott said in an email, "I was sure we would never see him again!!!"
