GEDDES -- The New York State Fair has announced four more acts for this year's Chevy Court concert series, bringing the total to 20 with just under six weeks before the start of the 2012 Fair.
According to a press release issued Friday morning, "Pop duo Karmin, country singer Gary Allan, pop singer-songwriter Christopher Cross, and rock musician Eddie Money" will appear at the Chevy Court stage. The Fair is once again boasting a 24-act lineup for 2012, offering entertainment across the entire spectrum of musical genres. Two acts will perform each day, one at 2:00 p.m. and the other at 8:00 p.m.
"These performers represent a variety of styles of music," said Dan O'Hara, State Fair director. "We want the music at Chevy Court to be family friendly and to appeal to large group of music lovers."
These performers are part of a revamped format that was introduced in 2009 to bring 24 national acts to the Chevy Court stage instead of the traditional 12. According to the Fair, the changes have helped set records for attendance at Chevy Court concerts. The Fair says last year's Chevy Court performance by Bruno Mars was attended by nearly 35,000 people.
All shows on Chevy Court are free with Fair admission. The 2012 Fair will run from August 23 to September 3.
