The Federal Trade Commission is out with a new website to help you understand why you're receiving unwanted, pre-recorded phone calls and how to put a stop to it.
An increasing number of people are receiving what are known as "robocalls," according to the FTC.
If you get one of these unwanted calls and hear a pre-recorded message, just hang up.
Do not press 1 to get an operator and you shouldn't press any number to get off the caller's list.
Adding your phone number to the national do not call registry will help limit robocalls.
