Syracuse firefighters were busy early Sunday morning, with two serious house fires.
Just after 3:30am they were called to 804 Spring Street, where a two storey home had fire in the walls, on both the first and second floors. A Deputy Chief at the scene tells us there's significant damage to the building. A woman and two young children at the house were taken to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. Their injuries are not believed serious. A Deputy Chief at the scene tells us there's significant damage to the building.
Many of the firefighters at the North Side fire came to the alarm from another housefire on West Colvin Street, on the south side. That alarm reported at 204 West Colvin, about 1:30 Sunday morning. Three families--five adults and two children--were displaced and are now being helped by the Red Cross.
The Red Cross also set up an emergency trailer at the Spring Street fire, to help distribute drinks and other support for firefighters, working in the hot and humid conditions.
Cause of both fires remains under investigation.
