BUFFALO (AP) -- The Syracuse-based Dinosaur Bar-B-Que chain has selected a site for its Buffalo restaurant and plans to open the eatery next summer.

The company announced Monday that they'll build the restaurant in a former film storage facility located in Buffalo's downtown entertainment district. Dinosaur founder and CEO John Stage said earlier this year that he was scouting locations in upstate New York's largest city for a new restaurant.

In addition to the original Dinosaur in Syracuse, Stage has opened roadhouse-style barbecue restaurants in Rochester, Harlem, Troy and Newark, N.J. Other Dinosaur restaurants are scheduled to open in Stamford, Conn., in November and in Brooklyn early next year.

Stage opened the first Dinosaur Bar-B-Que in Syracuse in 1988. The New York City native runs his businesses while splitting time between Manhattan and Syracuse.
