SYRACUSE -- A local woman has been sentenced to probation for her role in a deadly crash last fall.
Katharine Webb was in Onondaga County Court Friday morning as she was handed down a sentence of 5 years probation and 300 hours of community service.
Webb was behind the wheel on November 5th, 2011, when she lost control of her car on Interstate 81 near Syracuse.
29-year-old Jerry Brown from Tully was thrown from the vehicle and killed.
Webb will have to use an interlocking ignition if she's able to get her license back.
She was originally charged with second-degree vehicular manslaughter and DWI, but prosecutors agreed to criminally negligent homicide because the evidence didn't prove she was drunk.
