SYRACUSE -- Syracuse police releasing new information about an officer involve shooting at Driver's Village Tuesday morning.

Investigators say they've arrested four people in connection with that incident.

According to Syracuse Police Chief Frank Fowler, two of the suspects were in the process of stealing tires and rims from vehicles, at the dealership's parking lot.

7-year veteran of the force Mark Arduini was walking up to the vehicle to confront the suspects when the driver allegedly turned the vehicle, straight toward the detective.

Police say 22-year-old Gavin Ballog was the man who drove the pickup truck at the detective.

Arduini fired two shots at the vehicle.

Ballog has been charged with attempted aggravated assault.

The other three suspects are facing grand larceny charges related to several burglaries in the area.

Detective Arduini is recovering from his injuries.
