OSWEGO, NY -- The Oswego City Police Department is asking for the public's help after a serious assault early Saturday morning.
Police say around 2:40 a.m., officers responded to West Bridge St. between West 7th St. and West 8th St. for a reported fight and found two people had been assaulted by a large group of males.
One of the victims is being treated for serious head trauma.
Oswego police are asking anyone who may have been in that area at the time of the assault or who has information to contact them at (315) 342-8130 or (315) 342-8201.
This is a busy weekend in Oswego. The annual Harborfest celebration is underway. It's an event that traditionally brings thousands of people to the city.
