LIVERPOOL -- Hundreds of people gathered at Onondaga Lake Parkway in Liverpool and at Courtney Campbell Causeway in Tampa, FL, in an effort to raise awareness in support of Sheena Morris.

Morris was raised in Central New York in Clay, and moved to Florida in 2005. Her friends and family believe that she was a victim of domestic violence on January 1, 2009, when she was found dead in a hotel room in Florida. Bradenton Beach Police Department ruled Sheena's death a suicide.

Today's marches involved Morris' family trying to tell people that she did not commit suicide, and to try and get people to sign a petition to get the investigation into her death reopened.

"If I tell you exactly what happened, then Sheena definitely didn't commit suicide," Sheena's father, David Morris says. "Sheena was murdered, and it's been proven."

Her mother echoes that sentiment.

"The forensics show that Sheena's death could not have been a suicide," Kelly Osborn, Sheena's mother says.

Her parents are trying to spread that passion to anyone and everyone who will listen, as in addition to the marches, Morris' family started the website Justice for Sheena, which tells her story and links to an online petition. They want the FBI to investigate her death, instead of the Bradenton Beach Police Department.

"I proudly support our law enforcement," Kelly Osborn says. "But, this particular Bradenton Beach Police Department, they failed Sheena."

Sheena's supporters are looking for 10,000 signatures, something they hope can be accomplished through efforts like today.
