LENOX -- A Camden man was killed after rear-ending another car on State Route 31 in the Town of Lenox on Saturday morning.

State Police in Oneida say Ronald Comins, 63, of Camden, was driving his 2009 Pontiac on State Route 31 when he struck a 2006 Chrysler driven by Leona Clement, 80, of Cicero, killing Comins, and sending Clement's car over the eastbound lane approximately 300 feet onto a residential lawn.

Police say Clement was going westbound, stopped in traffic, trying to make a left turn onto Stephens Road when Comins struck her from behind. Comins was pronounced dead at the scene, and Clement was transported by Greater Lenox Ambulance to Oneida Health Care for minor injuries.

It was determined that Comins was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and the investigation is continuing.
