Waterloo man arrested after inappropriately messaging a 14-year-old girl

WATERLOO -- A Waterloo man was arrested after sending inappropriate messages to a young teen.

Police say Guy McIntyre, 57, allegedly sent numerous inappropriate text messages and e-mails to a 14-year-old girl starting in June.

The messages solicited a "romantic type relationship" with the girl and solicited the child to meet McIntyre with out parent’s knowledge.

Police arrested McIntyre on Friday after executing a search warrant of him in a public place.

McIntyre was charged with endangering the welfare of a child. He was arraigned in the Town of Fayette Court and remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on $1500 cash, $3000 bond bail.

The investigation is continuing.
