SYRACUSE -- A Fayetteville woman who sold prescription drugs to kids out of her home was sentenced to 5 years probation.

69-year-old Edith Crofoot pleaded guilty to criminal sale of a controlled substance in June and was sentenced Tuesday morning.

Police executed a search warrant and arrested Crofoot in April after receiving multiple anonymous complaints about high traffic in and out of the home on Hobson Avenue, near Jamesville-DeWitt High School.

Police found that Crofoot was selling prescription drugs, including hydrocodone and morphine, to young adults.

At the time of her arrest, Crofoot was found to have more than 35 animals in her home. The SPCA and code enforcement removed the animals and condemned the house.

Crofoot was sentenced 5 years probation and a $200 fine. She is also only allowed to have one pet from now own.
