NEW YORK -- The State of New York has announced a statewide STOP-DWI, or “Special Traffic Options Program for Driving While Intoxicated.”
The enforcement wave will fun from August 17 through September third to ensure the safety of drivers over the Labor Day weekend.
Officials remind drivers that it is illegal to drive with a blood-alcohol content (BAC) of 0.08 or higher.
Police will utilize sobriety checkpoints and saturation patrols in force in all 62 counties of New York State.
