ONEIDA -- The fight against bath salts in Madison County continued Tuesday Night.
Local doctors, law enforcement officers and emergency personnel gathered at Oneida High School, to help stem the tide against the growing epidemic.
A lot of time was devoted to answering questions from people in the community.
The event was sponsored by the special drug task force that was created to educate people about synthetic drugs.
While its not the first event the group has held, experts say its important to hold more of these forums to get the word out.
The executive director of BRIDGES-MCCASA, Susan Jenkins talked about the program saying, "I think people know individuals in their neighborhood or family members who are using and I think there's a lot of concern about what the long term effects on the body are.
Jenkins and many of the members of the task force are also looking for stricter laws.
Rule changes ban the sale and possession of synthetic drugs, but many leaders want felony penalties to be added to the charges.
