News that Rosie O'Donnell had a heart attack has reminded women across America that heart disease is serious:  The American Heart Association says it's the #1 killer of women over 30.

Dr. Uzma Iqbal, cardiologist in private practice in the Syracuse area, says women's symptoms can be more subtle than the 'elephant on the chest' often suffered by men.  And, therefore, those symptoms--including flu-like symptoms, tiredness, dizziness, faintness or even what appears to be acid reflux, are often ignored---as in O'Donnell's case.

The recommendation:  if you feel at all 'off' get medical help.  Dr. Iqbal says it's important to get taken to the hospital, and to not drive yourself.

The American Heart Association has detailed information for women on heart disease, on their website
