Fire Departments and rescue crews spent Sunday searching for a missing man on Cayuga Lake near Frontenac Park.

The Cayuga County Sheriff's Department says around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, a woman called and reported a 9-year-old boy wearing a life jacket floating in the middle of the lake.

Deputies say rescue crews were able to get to the boy, and he is physically OK, but his father, Daniel Dymock, 35, of Union Springs, is missing. At this point, they still don't know how the two ended up in the lake.

Officials from many different departments set up a command center and search.

As of 5:30 p.m., the crews suspended their search, but will regroup overnight and begin their efforts again at 8:00 a.m. Monday.
