CHATEAUGAY (AP) -- A northern New York man is scheduled to be arraigned on murder charges in the slaying of his father, whose body was found buried behind the house they shared near the Canadian border.
The Press-Republican of Plattsburgh reports that 24-year-old Dale Jarvis Jr. will be arraigned on charges connected to the slaying and disappearance of his father, 48-year-old Dale Jarvis Sr.
The elder Jarvis was last seen in February. Last month, state police investigators started searching the Jarvis' property in the Franklin County town of Chateaugay. On July 19 they found the father's body buried behind the house.
The newspaper reports that the younger Jarvis has been held in the county jail on unrelated charges since July 17.
A call to state police Monday wasn't immediately returned.
