SYRACUSE -- A man has been charged in connection to a stabbing at a local car dealership.

Syracuse Police say 35-year-old LaTorrie Phillips of Marguerite Avenue in the city was charged with Assault and Criminal Possession of a weapon.

Detectives say Phillips got into a fight with a worker at Koerner Ford on West Genesee Street in Syracuse.

According to investigators there was an ongoing dispute between the two men.

A verbal confrontation allegedly escalated to a fight when Phillips armed himself with a knife.

35-year-old Fontaine Burrage suffered a small puncture wound to his biceps. Police say he drove himself to Crouse Hospital for treatment.

Phillips suffered a cut on his head, and was treated at University Hospital.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges Tuesday morning.
