SANDY CREEK -- An Oswego County mother is dead and five others – including her three children – are injured after a two-car crash in Sandy Creek Monday afternoon.

State Police in Pulaski tell CNY Central that around 4:30 p.m. 23-year-old Justina L. Denny of County Route 22 in Richland was driving her 2010 Hyundai Elantra on County Route 22 when she lost control of her car on wet pavement and crossed the center line. Police say she drove into the path of a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze driven by 68-year-old Jeanette K. Cobb of Zephyr Hills, Florida, and the two vehicles collided.

Troopers say Denny was pronounced dead at the scene. The three children who were passengers in her vehicle, ranging in age from seven months to five-years-old, were taken to Upstate University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The Associated Press reports that the children are Denny's.

Cobb and a passenger were also taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries, but are expected to recover.
