NEW YORK -- The Mitt Romney and President Obama campaigns are accepting donations from text messages this election season.

Former Syracuse University basketball star Carmelo Anthony tweeted Friday afternoon saying that he donated $10 to the President Obama campaign. Within half an hour, the tweet was retweeted over 150 times.

The Obama campaign launched a text-to-donate campaign last week and the Romney campaign followed with the launch of one this week.

According to MittRomey.com, donors can text the word "GIVE" to 37377 to donate $10 to the Romney Campaign.

To donate to the Obama campaign, donors can text a value to 62262 to donate that value, according to BarackObama.com.
