TOWN OF HANNIBAL -- A Fulton man is charged with felony DWI after fleeing police while driving an ATV.

State Police say an officer who was patrolling Sunday on County Route 7 in the Town of Hannibal attempted to stop an ATV. The driver was later identified as 38-year-old Bruce B. Bivens, of Fulton.

The ATV failed to stop when the trooper activated the emergency lights and siren. Bivens continued driving northbound and ended up on Rathburn Road.

Police say that Bivens then turned off Rathburn Road and drove behind homes in the area.

Officers found Bivens hiding behind a house on Rathburn Road.

Bivens was charged with following too closely, operating an ATV on the roadway, fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle, and felony DWI.
