At Syracuse's Assumption Church on Sunday morning, parishoners were greeted by a 'resting fireman' as they went to a special mass memorializing the 9/11 anniversary.
Sunday afternoon, Andrews Memorial, in North Syracuse, holds a musical tribute to the tragedy from 3 to 6pm.
This year, the anniversary is expected to also be a national day of service, and SU students got started early. By 9am
several were already out, helping to clean up Syracuse's Fayette/Firefighters' Park. The park will be the site of Syracuse's official remembrance, '17 Minutes of Silence' on Tuesday morning at 8:30am.
