SYRACUSE (AP) -- Authorities say three men have been charged with identity fraud and making bogus credit cards in a scheme that netted about $300,000.

Federal prosecutors in Syracuse say the men were arrested after a raid on one of their homes turned up counterfeiting gear, a number of fake cards and gift cards bought using them throughout New York and other states in the Northeast.

Named in the indictment are 37-year-old Kareem Highsmith of Syracuse, 27-year-old Glenn Francis of Brooklyn, and 40-year-old Maurice Pugh of Syracuse. They're facing identity theft and fraud charges.

Assistant U.S. Attorney John Duncan said Thursday information wasn't available about how much of the stolen money was recovered.

Information on whether the men have lawyers wasn't available.
