LYSANDER -- The Onondaga County Water Authority (OCWA) is asking people in certain areas of Lysander to boil their water after a water main break on Monday morning.

The affected areas include Timber Bank Parkway, Long Shadow Drive, Bramble Run, Summers Gate Drive, Forrester Watch Run, Hammocks Drive and Morning Mist Drive.

The break happened around 9am on Monday morning when a water system lost pressure because of a water main break on River Road. Decreased pipe pressure increases the probability that untreated water and microbes can enter the water system.

The OWCA encourages people in these areas to not drink water without boiling it. People are asked to bring water to a boil, let boil for one minute, and let cool before use. Boiled or bottled water should be used for preparing food, drinking, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and making ice. This should be continued until further notice.
