SYRACUSE -- I-690 was closed over the weekend, beginning Friday at 9:00 a.m, while crews worked to fix a bridge that carries the westbound lanes over North Crouse Avenue in Syracuse.

I-690 was originally scheduled to reopen at 12:00p.m. Monday but is now scheduled to open at 2:00p.m.

As the state has done in other recent 690 projects, precast concrete deck panels are used to significantly reduce the construction duration. In fact, had the state used the traditional method, it says this project would have taken 12 weeks to complete.
