ITHACA -- The Ithaca Police say they responded to a homeless encampment, commonly known as the "Jungle", after receiving a report of an unresponsive man inside a tent on Monday.

When medical personnel arrived, Gary Delaney, 36, was declared deceased, according to the Ithaca Police Department.

Police say the last time that Delaney was seen alive was on Friday night around 10:00 p.m.

The police are awaiting the results of an autopsy, which is being performed at Lourdes Hospital in Broome County, before determining a cause of death.
