ANNSVILLE, ONEIDA CO. -- On Monday, troopers from the Sylvan Beach state police station and an Oneida County Sheriff's deputy were sent to 8866 Blossvale Road in the Town of Annsville after a man saying that he was wanted in Florida called 911 to turn himself in.
When they arrived, they found 58-year-old William H. Connelly trying to hide a baggie of marijuana in his bathroom. He was taken into custody. Another baggie of marijuana was found, in plain view, in the house and two marijuana plants were also found to be growing in the suspect's back yard. To top it all off, Connelly also surrendered several plastic grocery bags of marijuana to the troopers.
Connelly was taken back to the Sylvan Beach station where it was confirmed that there was a warrant out for him due to felony traffic offenses in Brevard County, Florida.
Connelly was charged with criminal possession of marijuana 5th, unlawfully growing cannabis and for being a fugitive from justice. He was arraigned in the Town of Annsville Court and then sent to the Oneida County Jail where he will stay pending further extradition proceedings.
