KIRKLAND -- Police in Oneida County are on the look out for an alleged sex offender.

The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Marcy and the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center are working with Town of Kirkland police on an investigation involving a sexual assault on a minor.

Town of Kirkland officials say the incident occurred on a nature trail on State Route 12B.

The victim, a 15 year-old female, was allegedly approached by an unknown white male sometime between 9 am and 12 pm.

Kirkland police say the man engaged the girl in “forcible sexual contact.”

The alleged assailant is described as being in his forties, thin build, and grayish hair with a buzz cut.

He was last seen wearing a dark green or black hoody, blue jeans and sneakers.

Anyone with any information are urged to contact the New York State Police at (315) 366-6000 or the Marcy State Police at (315) 736-8802
