MADISON COUNTY -- Madison County Sheriff's Deputies are warning residents in Madison County to keep their cars locked because of several vehicle break-in's early Wednesday morning.

The incidents occurred in the areas of Fire Tower Road in the Town of Nelson and Town of Georgetown as well as Campbell Road and Billings Hill Road in the Town of Lebanon.

The Sheriff's Department has this advice for residents to follow to prevent break-in's:

- Keep your vehicle visible. If possible park in a well-lit area or a garage. Avoid parking the vehicle in a concealed spot. Thieves like to work in a place they're less likely to be noticed.

- Don't make it too easy for thieves. Always lock your doors and keep windows closed.

- If your vehicle has an alarm, use it.

- If you have a garage, make sure it's always locked.

- Don't leave anything valuable, such as GPS units, radar detectors and laptops, in your car. Always bring it inside with you.
