GEDDES -- A third person has died from injuries suffered in an early Monday morning crash on I-690 in Geddes.

On Thursday, State Police say Joseph M. Clayton, 28, of Liverpool succumbed to severe head trauma and internal injuries. Clayton was in critical condition at Upstate Medical Center. He was riding in the backseat of a Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Keisha Gray, 20, formerly of Piqua, Ohio.

Gray, and another passenger, Ryan Misener, 21, also died.

State Police say rainy conditions and faulty windshield wipers may have contributed to the two-car crash that took these lives.

They were coming home from a gathering, heading eastbound on I-690, near John Glenn Boulevard, when Gray lost control. The car spun into a concrete median, before coming to rest in the passing lane of I-690.

That's when David Grice, 25, of Fulton, struck the car on the driver's side, unable to avoid impact.

He was taken to Upstate Medical Center for internal injuries.
